Napoli make best bid for Balzaretti

Palermo are ready to sell Federico Balzaretti to Napoli, but only if the player accepts a switch to the Stadio San Paolo.

Palermo are ready to sell Federico Balzaretti to Napoli, but only if the player accepts a switch to the Stadio San Paolo.

The left-back is wanted by the Azzurri and Roma, with a transfer a real possibility given that his contract expires in June.

“I don’t know if Balzaretti will be convinced to go,” Rosanero chief Maurizio Zamparini told Radio CRC. “It will now depend on Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis, who will talk to the player directly.

“Napoli’s offer is the best, but the player has some doubts as he has always maintained that he would stay here or move to Paris Saint-Germain.”

The Euro 2012 player is in favour of a move to the French capital as his wife works in the city as a ballerina.
