André-Frank Zambo Anguissa was shown a controversial second yellow card in Napoli’s Champions League quarter-final clash with Milan, and Kim Min-Jae also picked up a painful booking, ruling them both out of the second leg.

The 27-year-old Cameroonian midfielder picked up two yellow cards within less than four minutes to end his evening early, with the second stemming from a seemingly soft collision with Theo Hernandez.

The incident immediately infuriated Napoli supporters, who were already unimpressed with referee Istvan Kovacs’ work on the night.

Only minutes later, Napoli’s evening went from bad to worse as Kim was shown a yellow card for another soft challenge, a booking that’ll see him suspended for the second leg against Milan next week.

Referee Kovacs was quick to blow his whistle for the entirety of the evening and will likely be a point of discussion in the coming days.

Luciano Spalletti’s side will have to dig deep in the second leg, but they’ll be hoping to recover star striker Victor Osimhen in time for the vital match.
