Napoli are looking to pick up a new defender in January and are keen to snap up Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior, who is also wanted by Milan.

The 23-year-old Polish centre back joined the Gunners from Spezia in January in a deal worth around €25m, making the jump to the Premier League after his emergence in Liguria. He was one of the most exciting young defenders in Serie A before he made the move to England.

Kiwior has struggled for consistent playing time under Mikel Arteta in North London, seeing just 565 minutes of action across 13 matches this season, being used as a backup option behind William Saliba and Gabriel.

As reported by Il Mattino via TMW, Napoli are interested in picking up Kiwior in January but need to find the right deal with Arsenal, who are not interested in a loan. €25m could be enough to secure the Pole’s signature.

Milan are also interested in the 23-year-old, so things could heat up when the January transfer window opens in a few weeks.

Napoli’s alternative to Kiwior is Aston Villa’s Clement Lenglet, who could switch the Premier League for Serie A due to his lack of usage whilst on loan in England.
