Napoli are looking around for a replacement for Jesper Lindstrom following his transfer to Everton and have started to move forward for Benfica’s David Neres.

The Partenopei sent the Danish playmaker to the Toffees earlier this week on a €2.5m loan deal with a €22.5m buy option attached, cutting their losses after investing €30m in the 24-year-old from Eintracht Frankfurt last year.

Napoli are revitalising their squad under new coach Antonio Conte, ready to kickstart a new project, and are also interested in bringing in Brighton’s Billy Gilmour and Frosinone’s Marco Brescianini. First, they’ll need to sell Gianluca Gaetano and Jens Cajuste, however.

Page 22 of today’s Corriere dello Sport details how Napoli are on the hunt for a replacement for Lindstrom following his Everton transfer and have identified David Neres as an interesting opportunity in the transfer market.

The 27-year-old Brazilian forward is ready for a new adventure after two years at Benfica and has a circa €25m price tag. Talks have been opened with the Portuguese club and things could progress in the coming days.
