As well as Guillermo Ochoa and David Ospina, Napoli are also thought to be considering moving for Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

The Partenopei have been in the hunt for a new shot-stopper ever since Alex Meret was sidelined with a broken arm.

They have been most heavily linked with Mexico number one Ochoa, who starred at the last two World Cups and is currently at Standard Liege.

They have been most heavily linked with Mexico number one Ochoa, who starred at the last two World Cups and is currently at Standard Liege.

However, an agreement is still yet to materialise as the two clubs continue to disagree over whether the deal should be a permanent transfer or an initial loan with an option to buy.

As such, Napoli are looking at alternatives, with Arsenal’s Ospina a reported target of the last few days.

But transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio also believes the San Paolo club are looking at Mignolet.

The Belgium international is back in pre-season training with the Reds but does not appear to have a long-term future at the club.

He has been at Anfield for five years, but the arrival of Alisson from Roma and Jurgen Klopp’s preference to have Loris Karius as his understudy means Mignolet appears surplus to requirements on Merseyside.
