However, some have pointed out this means Ospina might not make his quota of competitive appearances in a Napoli jersey to activate the buy-out option from Arsenal.
The loan deal was agreed with a clause forcing Napoli to purchase him if he played at least 25 games in this season.
So far, Ospina has made 24, but they could be calculated as 23 because he was substituted in the first half against Udinese following a knock to the head.
