Reports in France suggest that Morocco’s breakout midfielder Azzedine Ounahi is leaning towards a Serie A move for Napoli or Inter.

The Atlas Lions became the first ever African side to reach the World Cup quarter-finals and finished fourth in Qatar, having beaten the likes of Belgium, Spain and Portugal.

Ounahi attracted a great deal of interest with his performances and the contract with Angers SCO is due to expire in June 2026.

Amongst the clubs linked to a potential January swoop are Barcelona, Newcastle United and Leicester City.

However, according to Footmercato, the Angers talent is leaning towards a Serie A transfer.

Napoli are the current hot favourites, who have set their sights firmly on him as the replacement for Diego Demme.

Fellow Serie A side Inter are also showing a strong interest in Ounahi.

Olympique Marseille would also be in the race, but seem to be short on fresh funds right now.

His current club SCO Angers insist they would like to keep him until the end of the season, but also acknowledge “we have had many offers from him, from big and medium-sized clubs in Italy, Spain, England and France.”
