Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is still training separately from the rest of the Partenopei first team after picking up an adductor injury in his left thigh while on international duty with Georgia at the end of March.

Kvaratskhelia was struck down with a muscular issue during Georgia’s win on penalties against Greece in Euro 2024 qualification on March 26.

Reports immediately afterwards suggested that he would be a doubt heading into Napoli’s Serie A game against Atalanta after the return of domestic action. He was ultimately left out of the squad as Napoli fell to a 3-0 home defeat.

As Kvaratskhelia is still training individually, it remains to be seen whether he will be fit enough to feature against Monza in the league on Sunday afternoon.

Updates from ANSA via TMW indicate that the 2022-23 Serie A MVP is ‘still suffering’ and that Francesco Calzona must wait for the green light from the medical team before sending Kvaratskhelia back out onto the pitch.
