Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could become the second U22 player to contribute to at least five goals in the first three games with a new club in Europe’s top 5 leagues, after Erling Haaland.

The Georgia international impressed in his first two games with Napoli, scoring three goals and delivering one assist. He will start against Fiorentina tonight at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

He could become the first U22 player to contribute to at least five goals in the opening three games with a new team in Europe’s top five leagues.

The record belongs to Manchester City star Erling Haaland who contributed to seven goals in his first three appearances with Borussia Dortmund in 2018-19.

Kvaratskhelia has joined Napoli for €10m from Dinamo Batumi this summer, replacing Lorenzo Insigne, who has joined Toronto FC as a free agent.

Juventus came close to signing him in 2021 but abandoned negotiations when Fabio Paratici joined Tottenham. Kvaratskhelia‘s contract at the Stadio Maradona runs out in June 2027.
