Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was the Man of The Match in NapoliJuventus, according to Italian sports papers but his teammate Victor Osimhen was also praised despite missing a penalty kick, while Dusan Vlahovic’s game was described as a ‘nightmare.’

The Partenopei secured a 2-1 win over their arch-rivals Juventus and Kvaratskhelia was praised by all Italian sports papers on Monday.

The Georgia international was rated 7.5/10 by Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport and 7/10 by La Gazzetta dello Sport. Juventus star Chiesa received the same rating from the pink paper.

Kvara opened the account in the first half with a right-foot volley. Gazzetta and Corriere dello Sport highlighted how the Georgian had been ‘targeted’ by fouls of Juventus players. Despite that, he still managed to find the net.

Andrea Cambiaso and Dusan Vlahovic received yellow cards for fouls on the 23-year-old and the Old Lady’s striker will be suspended in the next home game against Atalanta.

Kvara’s teammate Osimhen missed a penalty kick which he had earned. ‘It’s hard to issue a verdict, he missed a penalty kick, but it didn’t prevent Napoli from winning. He drove Bremer mad, got hit and played vertically. He still deserves praise,’ noted Gazzetta.

Osimhen was rated 6/10 by the pink paper and Corriere and 5 by Tuttosport.

Chiesa was Juventus’ best player in Naples and was rated 7/10, not only for his goal in the second half, but also for two key passes which his teammate Vlahovic failed to turn into goals.

Corriere dello Sport described Vlahovic’s game as a ‘nightmare’ and rated the Serbian star 4/10.

Vlahovic missed three clear-cut chances and took responsibility during a post-match interview: “If I want to become what I want to become, I have to take these chances,” he said.
