Napoli are keeping a close eye on Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele as one of the candidates to replace PSG-bound Fabian Ruiz, but face competition from Villarreal.
Spain international Fabian Ruiz is expected to join Paris Saint-Germain over the next couple of days in a deal worth €20m plus bonuses.
They need a replacement and a new candidate for the role is Ndombele, who is not part of Antonio Conte’s plans at Tottenham.
The 25-year-old is proving an expensive weight on Spurs, who paid €60m plus add-ons to get him from Olympique Lyonnais in 2019.
He returned to Lyon on loan in January and is under contract until June 2025.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Napoli are prepared to make a bid for Ndombele, on loan with an option to buy.
Villarreal are also interested in the player, although their priority is to go for another Spurs outcast, Giovani Lo Celso.
Galatasaray had also been mentioned as candidates for Ndombele’s signature.
