There are growing reports that Napoli are in negotiations with SCO Angers for Morocco midfielder Azzedine Ounahi in a deal that would be worth €25m.

The 22-year-old was one of the players to really make his name at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar along with Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat.

Now sources in France including Footmercato and RMC Sport are confident Ounahi considers Serie A to be his favoured destination, particularly Napoli.

Sky Sport Italia also now maintain the negotiations have started in earnest between the clubs.

The Partenopei do not actually need Ounahi right now, as they already have numerous options in midfield, but see him as a figure for the future.

This means they are prepared to leave him on loan at SCO Angers until the end of the current campaign.

He would then replace one of their midfielders, probably either Diego Demme or Tanguy Ndombele.

Napoli only have Ndombele on loan from Tottenham Hotspur with an option to buy for €32.5m.
