According to Calciomercato.com, he is Napoli’s first target to replace Insigne in 2022-23.

He was in talks with Atalanta over the summer and several Premier League and Bundesliga sides are also reportedly monitoring the Colombia international.

According to the report, Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli will open talks with the player’s entourage in the coming days to discuss the feasibility of the operation.

Yesterday, Insigne played his first Napoli game since Toronto FC announced his transfer. He was forced off the pitch due to a muscle injury and was applauded by the Stadio Maradona crowd while leaving the pitch.

A product of Napoli academy, Insigne has scored 114 goals in 416 games with the Partenopei.

  1. Exactly Brandon! Club owners and staff focus so much on mediocre foreign cheap talent to build a team and with the hope of finding a diamond in the rough for profit, what suffers most of our presence in Europe and the national because Italian players who have zero opportunity to prove themselves. I cannot believe there is nothing being done about this. Serie A is going down. And Italian talent is scarse.

  2. These exchanges/transfers are crimes against Italy, when will it end wtf are the reporters and journalist going to start to write about this heist of italian talent. What will it take. I hate to say this but it might take Italy not qualifying to blow open this discussion. Surely these fake reporters and so called journalist wont. Why are the fans of all teams not talking about this, These foreign players are all worthless yet you reporters continue to write about how great or talented they are and yet they all fail in italy. Mr. Bettoni why cant you continue to write about the Growth Decree that FI started and continue and move it to other media outlets. What will it take?

  3. What!? Apparently the sky is falling!? Come on, there’s no need to sound so alarmist. According to transfermarkt, the top 5 leagues in Europe have the following % of foreign players: EPL 65%, Serie A 61%, Bundesliga 55%, Ligue 1 53%, and La Liga 42%. Italy is really no different than its peers, though it could be said that Spain seems more vested with domestic talent. That said, given the multiple levels of calcio in Italy, there’s no lack of talent or development. Having top Italian talent leave for other leagues is a concern, hence it’s imperative for revenue to start flowing into Serie A (and B and C). But this whole Serie A should only be for Italians is silly. I’m glad that talent wants to into the league, providing they use the league as a destination, not a stepping stone.
