Inter reportedly have Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret on their radar ahead of the summer transfer window, as the Partenopei goalkeeper is set to become available on a free transfer at the end of the current season.

According to reports from SportMediaset and TMW, Meret has been offered to the Nerazzurri by his entourage.

Inter underwent a mass overhaul of their goalkeeping department in the summer just gone, as Andre Onana joined Manchester United in a big-money move and long-term captain Samir Handanovic left the club after 11 seasons.

There had also been a change in personnel among the club’s set of goalkeeping coaches.

Inter opted to replace Onana with an experienced option in former Bayern Munich and Borussia Moenchengladbach stopper Yann Sommer. The 34-year-old signed a contract until the summer of 2026.

If Inter were to snap up Meret on a free transfer in the summer, he would be seen as a ‘luxury’ alternative option to Sommer, the club’s current first choice.

According to Friday’s report, Inter have also been assessing a number of comparatively younger goalkeepers in recent weeks, including Leeds United’s Ilan Meslier and Bento from Atletico Paranaense.
