The midfielder signed for the Partenopei from Empoli and reiterated his enthusiastic statements from before his medical.
“This is one of the greatest days in my career,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I was never given anything for free. I fought my way up to a great club by climbing up every category.
“I'm proud of my past and happy to come to an important club in such a warm city.
“The supporters have flooded me with messages. The fact that I'm playing for a Coach [Maurizio Sarri] that I already know in person gives me an edge.
“I know his playing style well and this will help me find my feet here.
“I'm happy to come across him again, he knows me and he knows what I can give.
“I can't wait to start on this new adventure together.”
The 29-year-old then discussed his personal objectives in greater detail.
“Napoli will allow me to play in Europe.
“This experience will allow me to develop even further with a view to playing for the international team.
“This way I can aim to being called up for Euro 2016. That's my objective.
“There was a lot of talk around Napoli. I believe in destiny and I'm glad we found an agreement in the end.
“My agent worked 20 hours a day to make sure the deal happened, allowing me to come into a great team.
“The Scudetto? That would be a dream.
“I want to do well in Napoli and reach some great objectives.
“It's good to be ambitious and try and fight for important targets.”
