Napoli have given injury updates on Alex Meret and Kim Min-jae, as they both sustained problems during today’s 2-0 win over Atalanta and hope to recover for Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Partenopei lost goalkeeper Meret in the warm-up, so Pierluigi Gollini was thrown into the starting XI for his debut.

As for Kim Min-jae, the South Korea international limped off in the closing stages with a right calf issue, the same muscle that had caused him problems during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar back in November.

The defender was spotted with an ice pack strapped to his leg after returning to the bench.

“I told Kim he has to train tomorrow morning, he said there are no problems,” assured Spalletti in his press conference.

The coach also explained that Meret “sprained his wrist during the warm-up, it didn’t feel right, so we were forced to make the change.”

Napoli are confident that both players will be fit enough to start in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

Eintracht Frankfurt will visit the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in the Round of 16, after losing the first leg 2-0 on their own turf.
