Napoli have been told they cannot sign Mattia De Sciglio from Milan, so they’re focusing on Domenico Criscito.

The Partenopei are eager to strengthen their options with an experienced left-back.

According to Rai Sport, Napoli made enquiries to Milan about De Sciglio, but the player replied he had no intention of making the move.

It has long been suggested that if De Sciglio does leave San Siro, it’ll be to reunite with his old Milan Coach Max Allegri at Juventus.

The offer on the table of €15m was also not enough to satisfy the Rossoneri, who want closer to €25m.

With this in mind, Napoli are instead turning their focus on to Criscito.

Zenit have rejected all previous offers for the former Italy international, but Napoli hope he’ll be tempted to push for a transfer to his hometown club.

Tuttosport claim Criscito has given the all-clear for this move, but Napoli need to work out terms with notoriously tough negotiators Zenit.
