Genoa’s sporting director claims Mattia Perin has not joined Napoli yet because the Partenopei are ‘busy thinking about Maurizio Sarri’s future’.

Perin has long been linked with Napoli as Pepe Reina’s replacement between the sticks, but Giorgio Perinetti suggested the southerners’ business in the transfer market had been placed on hold by the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Sarri.

“The squad must be improved for next season,” he told Radio Crc.

“In the meantime, however, the fans can smile about us obtaining a UEFA license, the confirmation of Ballardini and the return of Criscito.

“Perin? He wants to play in the Champions League, but Napoli are busy thinking about Maurizio Sarri’s future at the moment.

“We;ll see what happens in the next few weeks.”
