Napoli fear another Higuain as Juventus monitor Koulibaly – report

Napoli fear a Gonzalo Higuain repeat as Juventus monitor Kalidou Koulibaly’s contract situation closely, according to reports in Italy.

Higuain left Napoli for the Bianconeri in 2016 following his record-breaking goal scoring campaign in a move which Partenopei fans could not forgive.

And Tuttosport report the club fear a similar situation could occur with Koulibaly as the Senegal defender has yet to pen a contract extension.

The report suggests the 30-year-old is disappointed at having been offered a contract with a salary reduction and, with just 12 months remaining on his current deal, it could see him leave this summer.

Juve will see iconic captain Giorgio Chiellini leave when his contract expires on June 30 and are in the market for an imposing central defender.

Koulibaly has been at Napoli for eight seasons and has been one of the best defenders in the world throughout that time.

In the 2017-18 season, he scored a last-gasp winner at Juve which put Napoli close to the Scudetto but they were eventually pipped by the Bianconeri.
