When Napoli fans staged their pitch invasion in Udine after winning the Scudetto, some hacked out chunks of the turf and it is already showing up on eBay for hundreds of Euros.

The Serie A title was secured with a 1-1 draw against Udinese at the Dacia Arena last night.

There were thousands of fans there supporting the away team and many of them ran onto the pitch at the final whistle to celebrate along with players and staff.

Video showed some clips of fans digging large chunks of the turf out and putting it in a plastic bag.

It didn’t take long for that to turn up on the auction site eBay, with a minimum €100 asking price and some going for €700.

Amusingly, the seller described the status of the item as ‘brand new’ – technically accurate.

The staff at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona predicted potential situations like this and covered the entire turf with a giant blue tarpaulin when 50,000 fans were packed into the arena to watch the game on big screens.
