Anticipation is rising ahead of tomorrow’s decisive Serie A clash between Napoli and Inter, with the Partenopei faithful beginning to dream of lifting the Scudetto once again.

A win against the Nerazzurri tomorrow would see them leapfrog Simone Inzaghi’s side in the league table, as they currently trail the Milanese club by only a single point. The importance of tomorrow’s game in the title race this season cannot be understated, and it’s something that all the squad and fans are aware of.

Luciano Spalletti and his squad have done well at the start of this year, despite the Africa Cup of Nations commitments, winning four times and drawing against Juventus. They have done well to limit the damage done by losing players like Kalidou Koulibaly, putting them in an incredibly strong position.

Napoli fans have answered the call for tomorrow’s game; four days ago, the free sale of tickets for the match began. In less than 24 hours, all the tickets were sold out, meaning the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona tomorrow will have an incredible atmosphere, fitting for such an important game, with 25,000 fans in attendance.

The dream of a third Scudetto is starting to take shape in the Campania capital, and a win tomorrow would only heat things up further.

  1. Nobody deserve a scudetto more than Napoli. They have been consistently playing beautiful football, has their striker broke goalscoring record, but still lives under Juve’s shadow for years.
This year might be their only chance though, as their best players are about to step out of their peak or left and next year Juve will be back from the start, and Milan and inter will be even stronger

  2. Unlikely.

Their first 13 or 14 players are quite strong, but the rest are of a pretty low level.

If they can keep the best players fit, they might have a chance

  3. Top coaches know that winning big matches is not as important as winning matches against smaller teams. Inter 15 or so matches will be easy compared to what they’re dealing now. The league will be won because of the side that can get more points against weaker opponents and so far this season it’s Inter. Napoli have been dreaming for a long time but Spalleti isn’t a coach that can actually win the league that much is very clear.

  4. @solo inter. Inter is pretty strong, but they are still competing in the euro, and remember, Inzaghi is not a top coach yet, at least in silverware.
The team just lost the derby, about to face another contender, and will face liverpool after that. If the next 2 results doesn’t go their way, they would probably get themself into a period, it would be a question how unproven coach like Inzaghi stabilize the boat.
I agree, though that Inter is the team with both resorce and lighter schedule to determine the scudetto.
Not a Napoli fan, but this article is about them. What I was trying to say is that, after this season, Napoli will have to rebuild further just to keep themself as strong as they are now

  5. Despite being a weaker squad, in my opinion, than in 2017-18, it feels like Napoli is closer to the scudetto this season. This is a statement game for them. If they win, it will say they are for real. If they lose the gap will go to 4 pts with a game in hand for Inter. This one is the definition of a “six pointer”.

  6. We should not forget, that Inter has one game in hand. And that Napoli and Milan has to play against each ohter. So therefore even if Inter lose, they will have the chance to be first.

  7. I said this at the end of the Euro group stages. Squad depth is what wins this league. At a certain point Inter and Napoli will have to choose between their respective European competition, or the coppa Italia and the league. Milan couldn’t manage it last year, resulting in Samu Castillejo being deployed as a makeshift striker against the best team in the Europa league due to injury and fatigue and you also saw signs of it in the UCL this year. Each team needs about 18 players worthy of the first team to be able to compete on all fronts and none of us have it.
