Victor Osimhen suffered a hamstring injury whilst on international duty and may be forced to watch Napoli from the sidelines for another month at least.

The 24-year-old striker suffered the medium-grade lesion to the biceps femoris in his right thigh in the 59th minute of Nigeria’s friendly against Saudi Arabia on October 13th, forcing him to miss Napoli’s last two matches against Hellas Verona and Union Berlin.

Osimhen has remained in strong form this season despite Napoli’s slow start, scoring six goals in his first eight Serie A outings, and his absence leaves Rudi Garcia without his biggest threat.

As reported by Il Mattino via TMW, Osimhen is still undergoing his recovery plan and will carry out a new round of medical tests in the November international break.

Current indications suggest that he’s unlikely to recover in time for Napoli’s clash with Atalanta on November 25th. The club do not want to run any risks by forcing him to return early, so he’s expected to be absent for another month at least.
