France international Sissoko joined Newcastle from Toulouse in January 2013 and his price-tag has since sky-rocketed to €15m.
He played in 20 Premier League games this season, providing five assists.
Another alternative is Imbula, who Porto made clear they do want to sell just six months after his arrival from Olympique Marseille.
The Partenopei face strong competition, as both Inter and Milan are also tracking him.
