Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has shut down rumours linking the Partenopei with a move for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres with a one-word response: ‘Impossible’.

No Napoli interest in Gyokeres

The club are still evaluating their options in the transfer market, particularly in the attacking department, but much depends on the movement of current star-striker Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian has a release clause in his contract worth a reported €130m, but as of yet, there have been no formal offers, despite strong links with a move to Paris Saint-Germain to replace Kylian Mbappe.

That means that submitting an offer for Gyokeres, who himself has a release clause of around €100m, is massively unlikely.

Additionally, Napoli are also seemingly more interested in reuniting Conte with Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku, who has spent the past two campaigns on loan in Serie A with Inter and Roma.
