Napoli officially denied that Maurizio Sarri not talking after the game against Pescara was due to an all-out Press silence.

The 2-2 with the newly-promoted team left a bitter after-taste for the Partenopei, but the Coach had nothing to say on the subject.

It was speculated that he had flatly refused to speak to the journalists as part of an overall policy enforced by the club, but a statement published by Napoli on their social media feeds denied that.

“Napoli did not enact any Press silence yesterday,” reads the statement on the club's official Twitter account. “In fact, [Marek] Hamsik released an interview at the end of the game.

“We'd already communicated to the Lega Calcio in the morning that, on the occasion of evening games played away, we would not be engaging in media activity.

“This would be the case regardless of results, refereeing decisions or any other event that may happen.”
