Napoli defender Kim Min-jae has donated €70,000 to relief efforts in Turkey and Syria after a devastating earthquake, having played for Fenerbahce last season.

The South Korea international got to know Turkey well during his 2021-22 campaign at Fenerbahce, before the €18.05m move to Napoli in July 2022.

Therefore, seeing the scenes of destruction in Turkey and Syria really hit home for Kim Min-jae.

He took matters into his own hands and donated €70,000 of his own money to those trying to help both the search and rescue efforts, and creating shelter for the millions left homeless.

The Korean section of UNICEF confirmed that Kim Min-jae had made the massive donation, with the understanding it would go to relief efforts in Turkey and Syria.

Serie A has been rushing to help out, particularly Atalanta defender Merih Demiral, who has put several signed jerseys up for auction.

He started with his personal collection at Juventus, Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala and Leonardo Bonucci, then started to bring in more donations including Lionel Messi, Harry Kane, Erling Haaland, Neymar and Kevin de Bruyne.
