Napoli defender Filippo Costa tested positive for COVID ‘after developing symptoms’, the club announced.
“SSC Napoli can confirm that Filippo Costa has tested positive for COVID-19,” an official statement read.
“The player took a test on Thursday morning after developing symptoms.
“Costa did not travel with the squad to the Castel di Sangro training camp.
“The rest of the squad will continue to adhere to the current protocol and any guidance issued by the local health authorities.”
Costa, 26, joined the Partenopei in a €1.4m deal from SPAL in 2019, but has never made his debut with the Azzurri.
He spent the last two seasons on loan in Serie B, first at Bari and then at Virtus Entella.
