Multiple sources are confident Napoli will fire Rudi Garcia, so the options to replace him are Igor Tudor, Fabio Cannavaro and Walter Mazzarri.

The tactician was appointed over the summer after Luciano Spalletti walked away, having won the club’s first Serie A title in over 30 years.

However, after a brief respite, the results and performances have again taken a massive dip, culminating in the midweek Champions League 1-1 draw with Union Berlin and this afternoon’s 1-0 home defeat to Empoli.

Napoli were jeered off the pitch, and with a run of tough games coming up against Atalanta, Real Madrid, Juventus and Inter, the break for international duty is the ideal time to make a change.

Tudor remains the favourite, as he has been for months since Antonio Conte ruled himself out of the running for this season.

Formerly of Udinese and Olympique Marseille, Tudor knows Serie A well.

The Cannavaro brothers, Fabio and Paolo, were spotted in the stands of the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona today, sitting near to President Aurelio De Laurentiis.

They are native Neapolitans and fan favourites, but Cannavaro’s coaching career outside China has been very poor, most recently sacked by Benevento in Serie B.

Sky Sport Italia mention a potential return to Naples for Mazzarri, who had already been at the helm under De Laurentiis when the club was fighting back from bankruptcy.

However, considering De Laurentiis wanted a coach over the summer who would keep the 4-3-3 formation used by Spalletti, that seems unlikely for three-man defence teacher Mazzarri.

  1. Kim is the top 5 CD in the world right now and is replaced with a serie b level player. The backend is pretty fragile.
Napoli are a club might win the title every 50 years and it is ridiculous to expect them to defend the title.
Garcia is very narrow minded and mean, same as the owner. It’s all the owner’s fault to choose him.
