Napoli continue negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain for Keylor Navas, trying to work out different ways of making the move go through.
The goalkeeper is not eager to remain in France after new coach Christophe Galtier confirmed he will be second-choice to Italy international Gianluigi Donnarumma.
He is therefore in talks to join Napoli, but the clubs are discussing several different formats for the deal.
According to Footmercato, there are only two options that could realistically work.
The first is a dry loan, so without an option to buy at the end of the season, and the second is for Navas to terminate his contract with PSG.
As a free agent, he would therefore be able to sign a new deal for a much lower salary with the Partenopei.
They are believed to be offering him €4.5m per season net plus bonuses.
That is approximately half his current wages of €9m per season net at Parc des Princes.
This news comes after the Corriere dello Sport reported that Napoli would only pay 25 per cent of his existing salary during a loan period.
They’d face a similar problem for another transfer option, Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
