Juan Zuniga could face an extended period on the sidelines after it emerged that the Napoli wing-back picked up a knee sprain.
The Colombia international had missed the Partenopei’s last two matches for unspecified reasons, but it was rumoured that he had been struggling with his knee, having previously had issues with the joint.
Today Napoli have announced that his absence has indeed been due to a knee complaint, which has now been diagnosed.

The Colombia international had missed the Partenopei’s last two matches for unspecified reasons, but it was rumoured that he had been struggling with his knee, having previously had issues with the joint.
Today Napoli have announced that his absence has indeed been due to a knee complaint, which has now been diagnosed.
“Camilo Zuniga today visited Prof. Mariani, accompanied by Dr. D’Andrea, at Villa Stuart. He was inspected after the injury to his right knee,” reads a statement on Napoli’s official website.
“Mariani confirmed the sprain and Zuniga will now observe a period of training separately.”
Zuniga’s recovery time remains unspecified, as does the manner in which his setback came about, but there are fears that it could be a recurrence of the knee injury which kept him out for most of last season.
