Napoli released a statement confirming Piotr Zielinski underwent tests after respiratory problems, but they all came back negative.
The Poland international went to the touchline in the opening 16 minutes of the Serie A game with Empoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona this evening.
He seemed to be struggling to breathe and motioned to his neck and chest.
Zielinski put on a coat and was taken into the dressing room, replaced by Lorenzo Insigne.
A statement released by Napoli this evening confirms Zielinski had some breathing difficulties, but that all tests came back negative.
The player contracted COVID-19 in October 2020 and was out of action for approximately three weeks at the time.
Meanwhile, Napoli medical staff also noted that Eljif Elmas was substituted during the same match for a bruised right calf muscle.
Empoli went on to win the game 1-0 thanks to a fluke Patrick Cutrone goal, which ricocheted off the back of his head.
