Napoli have confirmed that Victor Osimhen will not be going on international duty with Nigeria due to injury.
The striker was only on the bench for Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Inter at San Siro and barely trained in the days before the match.
Coach Francesco Calzona confirmed it was due to an inflammation of the scar from an old injury.
It seems as if he has still not fully recovered, because Osimhen is not on the list of players Napoli released on international duty.
He is not the only one, as Hamed Junior Traore will not attend the Ivory Coast squad and Jesper Lindstrom is not joining up with Denmark.
Alex Meret, Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Giacomo Raspadori are with Italy, Jens Cajuste in Sweden, Kvicha Kvaratskhelia with Georgia, Stanislav Lobotka in Slovakia, Leo Ostigard for Norway, Mathias Olivera with Uruguay, Amir Rrahmani for Kosovo and Piotr Zielinski joined up with Poland.
