Napoli have confirmed that defender Amir Rrahmani will be forced out of action for a number of weeks after suffering a muscle injury.

The 29-year-old Kosovan centre back was forced off the pitch in the 13th minute of the club’s Champions League win over Braga, looking pained as he exited the pitch in Portugal.

Rrahmani was a core part of Napoli’s title winning squad last season, seeing over 3000 minutes of action across 36 total appearances. He has continued featuring regularly under new coach Rudi Garcia.

As announced today via Calciomercato.com, tests confirmed that Rrahmani suffered a low-grade lesion of the semimembranosus muscle of his left thigh, an injury that’ll rule him out of their upcoming clash with Bologna. He will likely be sidelined for around two to three weeks.

The Partenopei are also without Jens Cajuste, who is suffering from muscle complaints. The 24-year-old Swedish midfielder will likely sit out of the clash with the Rossoblu on Saturday.
