Napoli are going to be short-staffed for Friday’s game against Monza, as Stanislav Lobotka cracked a rib and Natan needs specialist treatment for a dislocated shoulder.

The 2-0 defeat to Roma last night is going to leave repercussions going forward for the Partenopei, perhaps into 2024.

Lobotka went off during the second half and seemed to be struggling to move around, with an ice pack strapped to his side once on the bench.

It is now confirmed this is because the midfielder suffered a cracked rib and his condition will be evaluated over the next few days.

Even more serious is Natan, as the centre-back fell awkwardly during the final minutes and visibly could not move, leaving Napoli effectively down to eight men when Romelu Lukaku scored on the counter-attack.

He has been diagnosed with a dislocated right shoulder and requires specialist consultation next week.

It remains to be seen if the Brazilian requires surgery, so his absence could be anywhere between two to eight weeks.

Victor Osimhen was sent off for two yellow cards and therefore will receive a standard one-match ban, but Matteo Politano could potentially face two games out for his reaction foul straight red card on Nicola Zalewski, even if the contact itself was very slight.
