Napoli will be without Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa for several weeks, as tests showed a lesion to the left thigh long adductor.
The midfielder had his first start since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, playing in the Europa League play-off against Barcelona on Thursday.
He didn’t last long, sustaining a muscular problem and limping off during the 1-1 draw at Camp Nou.
A statement from Napoli confirmed tests have shown a Grade I lesion to the long adductor in the left thigh.
This type of injury will rule him out for at least a couple of weeks, meaning he will miss the Cagliari game and the second leg against Barcelona.
It is a problem for coach Luciano Spalletti, because Stanislav Lobotka is also out with a muscular problem during the same period.
Diego Demme is the next alternative in line for that midfield spot, but Napoli will have practically no options for squad rotation.
