Napoli hope to shake hands with Brighton and Hove Albion for Billy Gilmour on Wednesday, securing him for a €15m package deal.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the talks progressed further today and they are now down to the final details of the agreement.

Crucially, the player has agreed personal terms for a contract worth circa €2m per season and is eager to work with Antonio Conte in Italy.

As for Brighton, they are ready to accept the €12m with €3m in add-ons to sell the Scotland international.

The Partenopei are confident that the hard work has been done and they can start to book Gilmour’s medical from tomorrow.

The midfielder turned 23 in June and spent time at the youth academies of Glasgow Rangers and then Chelsea.

There was a loan spell at Norwich in 2021-22 before his €8.3m sale to Brighton and Hove Albion that summer.

He already has 30 senior caps for Scotland, also scoring one goal.
