Napoli are pushing to sign Mathias Olivera from Getafe as Nicolas Tagliafico wants to join Barcelona in January.

The Partenopei had set their sights on the Argentinean full-back who, however, only wants to move to the Nou Camp.

According to Fabrizio Romano, talks between the Catalans and Ajax are ongoing, but the Dutch don’t want to loan the 29-year-old who sees his contract expire in June 2023.

Napoli had also opened talks with the player’s representative, but Tagliafico only wants Barcelona.

Therefore, the Partenopei have switched their focus on Getafe’s Mathias Olivera. According to Sky Sport Italia, they have already reached an agreement to sign the 24-year-old in June for €12m.

Napoli are now trying to bring the player to the Stadio Maradona in the winter transfer window, but it remains to be seen if Getafe will give the green light to the operation.

Napoli sit second in the Serie A table with 49 points in 23 Serie A games. They beat Salernitana 4-1 yesterday and will visit Venezia after the break.
