Multiple reports in Italy claim Napoli and Sampdoria are close to finalising a swap deal involving Bartosz Bereszynski and Alessandro Zanoli.

Sky Sport Italia and Gazzetta report the Serie A sides are close to finalising a deal that would see the two right-backs swap clubs on loan in January.

According to Sky Sport, Napoli and Samp aim to shake hands by Christmas, so Bereszynski and Zanoli can be available for their new clubs when the season resumes on January 4.

Zanoli, 22, is a product of Napoli academy and was Giovanni Di Lorenzo’s replacement in the first part of the season.

However, coach Luciano Spalletti needs a more experienced right-back for the second part of the campaign, when the Partenopei will be looking to cement their leadership in Serie A and go as far as possible in the Champions League and Coppa Italia.

Napoli are the only unbeaten team in Serie A this term, with 13 wins and two draws in 15 matches. They are enjoying an eight-point lead over second-placed Milan.
