Napoli have reached a breakthrough in the negotiations with Sassuolo for Giacomo Raspadori, claim multiple sources.

The two clubs had been talking for some time for the striker, who already made his preference clear.

The basic fee was set at €30m plus €5m in various bonuses, and the discussion had therefore been around the format of the add-ons.

That will be spread out in a loan for €5m with obligation to buy for another €25m.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and Tuttomercatoweb, Sassuolo have agreed to lower their demands on the add-ons.

More specifically, they will not ask for payment if Napoli qualify for the Europa League, only the Champions League.

That bonus will rise from €500,000 to €1m for every season over the next five years that they qualify for Europe’s most prestigious tournament.

That will peak at a maximum of €3m.

Another €2m in bonuses are related to how many goals and assists that Raspadori contributes in the Napoli jersey.

Sassuolo had set a deadline of tomorrow evening to finalise the transfer or keep hold of their Italy international, but they are on track to strike a deal for the 22-year-old.
