Luciano Spalletti’s Napoli have gained a spot in the UEFA club rankings following their strong showing against Ajax in their last two Champions League matches.

The Partenopei have been absolutely electric this season, with new additions like Giacomo Raspadori and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia instantly making an impact in the Campania capital. Napoli secured a thrilling 6-1 win in Amsterdam last week and followed that up with a 4-2 win at home against Ajax yesterday, booking their spot in the Round of 16 of the Champions League.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, UEFA’s last update to the club rankings sees Napoli rise to 20th, a sign of their recent growth. Roma and Lazio both dropped one place, to 13th and 39th respectively, and Milan dropped three places from 45th to 48th.

Despite their defeat to Maccabi Haifa, Juventus remain in 8th, although dropping out of the competition before the knock-out stages would likely see their placing suffer.

  1. Not saying we were going to win the World Cup had me qualified, but Raspadori is in form and Scamacca doing well too. We had QF’s in us.

Good for Napoli. Was so wrong about them being competitive after losing Mertens and Insigne.
