Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti was furious with Sport Mediaset pundits before his post-match interview on Tuesday night: ‘They are still talking about Francesco Totti and Mauro Icardi, I will call one of them…’

The Tuscan tactician was in no mood to celebrate Napoli’s 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday.

Before going on air with his post-match interview with Sky Sport, Spalletti was seen talking to one of Napoli’s staff members, complaining about what pundits in the studio were talking about.

He referred to Sport Mediaset pundits who had conducted the interview before Sky Sport.

“They are still talking about Totti and Icardi, how I managed Totti and Icardi! Now, I will call one of them to show how I managed them.”

Former Roma captain Totti retired in 2017 with Spalletti in charge and has always blamed the Certaldo-born coach for his lack of playing time in his final season at the club. Icardi left in 2019 after a fallout with Spalletti and part of Inter‘s dressing room.
