Napoli have approached Hellas Verona for versatile Jacopo Sala, but the club wants €6m.
Reports circulated on Sky Sport Italia today that the Partenopei were close to a deal for the ex-Hamburger SV and Chelsea man.
However, Radio Kiss Kiss claim they contacted Verona and were told the rumoured offer of €3m plus bonuses is too low.
Hellas would only be prepared to release Sala for €6m, or €5m plus €1m in add-ons.
Curiously, Sala had been viewed as first choice for Empoli if they sold Elseid Hysaj to Napoli.

Instead, Maurizio Sarri’s Partenopei appear to have gone straight for the Verona man themselves.
The 23-year-old can play in midfield, central defence or at right-back.
