Napoli have spoken to Chelsea about striker Armando Broja while working out the Kalidou Koulibaly transfer, claim reports in Italy.

The centre-forward turns 21 in September and was born and raised in England, but plays his international football for Albania.

Numerous clubs have shown an interest in Broja this summer after his loan spells with Southampton and Vitesse, including West Ham United and Everton.

According to Il Mattino newspaper, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is a big fan of Broja and spoke to Chelsea about his status during the negotiations for the €40m sale of Koulibaly.

He would be an extremely expensive signing at over €35m, but Napoli could try to get him on loan with an option to buy.

Atalanta had also been linked with the Albania international striker.

West Ham were the favourites, but seem to have fallen away after turning their focus towards Sassuolo’s Italy international Gianluca Scamacca instead.
