Napoli have reached an agreement over a long-term contract extension with winger Matteo Politano according to recent reports.

The 30-year-old is expected to put pen to paper in the coming days on an extension that will run until the summer of 2027. His previous deal would have expired in 2025.

According to updates from TMW, Politano is set to receive an annual salary of €3m as a result of his new deal.

President Aurelio De Laurentiis is said to be pleased with Politano’s performances over the course of his time in Campania, and was happy to reward him with a new contract.

The final agreement was reportedly reached after a meeting with Politano’s agent, who had flown to Saudi Arabia for negotiations, as Napoli are currently in Riyadh preparing for the Supercoppa Italiana, where they will face Fiorentina in the semi-final on Thursday.

Politano moved to Napoli from INter in January 2020 on a two-year loan deal with an obligation to buy.

Since then, he has gone on to deliver 29 goals from 172 appearances across all competitions, including 23 from 131 Serie A matches.
