New Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli is ready to battle his old club Napoli for the same transfer target, Real Betis forward Rodri Sanchez.

The 23-year-old impressed with Spain at the Under-21 European Championships and has seemingly been on Giuntoli’s radar for a while.

That was previously for Napoli and now at Juventus, so the two clubs are set to follow the same objective.

He spent time in the Espanyol, Barcelona and Real Betis academies and last season scored two goals with seven assists in 39 competitive matches.

Sanchez is valued for his versatility, as he is a left-footed player who tends to work best on the right wing, but can also act as a trequartista behind the strikers.

There is a release clause in the contract worth €40m, but Napoli and Juventus are hoping to negotiate a lower fee.

Giuntoli started work at Juve today after terminating his Napoli contract by mutual consent.
