Matija Popovic is ready to undergo his medicals with Napoli before heading off to join Frosinone on loan.

The 18-year-old Serbian forward was the centre of drama in this January transfer window, looking to be just a step away from joining Milan before everything collapsed due to the agent commissions. Juventus then emerged to try and snap up the talented teenager but fell at the same hurdle.

Napoli managed to convince Popovic of a move, setting up an immediate six-month loan spell at Frosinone. He is expected to sign a five-year deal with the Partenopei, which would tie him to the club to June 2029.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Popovic is set to undergo his medicals with Napoli on Saturday morning before putting pen to paper on his five-year deal. He’ll then immediately head off to join Frosinone until the end of the season.

The Giallazzurri are also set to welcome Alessio Zerbin from the Partenopei. The 24-year-old is expected to arrive in the city on Tuesday next week.
