Napoli have reportedly reached an agreement with Celta Vigo to sign U21 Spain international Gabri Veiga for more than €30m.
The Partenopei are set to secure the signature of the 21-year-old midfielder having reportedly reached an agreement over his transfer fee with Celta Vigo.
Transfer pundits Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano claim the Serie A champions will pay €30m plus €6m add-ons. Napoli are now finalising negotiations with the player’s entourage before booking his medical.
Napoli continued negotiations with the La Liga side despite Piotr Zielinski’s decision to snub an offer from Saudi Arabia and remain at the Stadio Maradona, where he is expected to extend his contract beyond June 2024.
The Partenopei make their 2023-24 Serie A debut on Saturday away at Frosinone.
Veiga, 21, played 17 minutes in Celta’s La Liga opener against Osasuna this past Sunday. He has scored 11 goals in 50 appearances in Spain’s top flight and has nine international appearances to his name with Spain U21.
