France Football drew up a list of the 30 most passionate stadium atmospheres in the world, including the Stadio San Paolo and Stadio Olimpico, but not San Siro.

The arena with the best fan experience was named as La Bombonera in Buenos Aires, the home of Boca Juniors, which of course is why ex-Roma hero Daniele De Rossi decided to see out his career in Argentina.

Liverpool’s Anfield followed, with the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund coming in third, the Marakana of Red Star Belgrade in fourth and Glasgow’s Celtic Park fifth.

Argentina was represented again in sixth place with River Plate’s Monumental, then Besiktas at the Vodafone Park, Olympiacos’ Karaiskakis in Athens, the San Mames in Bilbao and Maracana in Rio de Janeiro completing the top 10.

There are two Serie A representatives in the list of 30, starting with Napoli’s Stadio San Paolo in 13th position, especially after the recent refurbishment of the seats and athletics track to represent the club’s blue colours.

The Stadio Olimpico in Rome, used by Roma and Lazio, as well as the host arena for the opening Euro 2020 fixture, came in at number 23.

However, there was no room for San Siro, which will have further pushed Inter and Milan in their attempts to get the stadium torn down to be replaced by a modern venue.
