Roma defender William Bianda is on the verge of a loan move to Nantes, as he was left out of the pre-season training squad.

The 19-year-old was signed from Lens last summer for €6m plus up to another €5m in performance-related bonuses.

However, he has only played 22 times for the Roma youth team and is yet to make his senior debut.

New Coach Paulo Fonseca believes Bianda would benefit from a loan spell to gain playing time and a return to France seems likely.
