A PR director from FC Nantes highlighted that Juventus fans won’t be subject to the same restrictions as the French fans were in Turin.

The Brigade Loire, a popular ultra group of les Canaris, were not allowed into the away section of the Allianz Stadium for the first Europa League clash between the two clubs last week. L’Equipe described the situation as “an excess of zeal on the part of the Italian authorities.”

Nantes surprised many by edging out a 1-1 draw with Juventus, taking advantage of the Old Lady’s wastefulness and misfortune. The Ligue 1 outfit are now dreaming of an upset in the west of France as they look to progress to the Round of 16 of the Europa League. 35,000 home supporters are expected to attend the match.

Speaking via Calciomercato.com, an unnamed PR director from Nantes discussed the excitement surrounding the game and how the 920 travelling Juventus fans will be treated.

“Not a day goes by without a demand for tickets. ‘We will not apply to them (Juventus fans, ed.) what our fans experienced. We will not ask them to take off their shoes to enter the stadium. That was too much.”

The authorities in Nantes have requested an additional 80 police officers, compared to a recent clash with Paris Saint-Germain, to help control proceedings.
